A FEATURE DOCUMENTARY
Trembling Earth
SOME THINGS TAKE LONGER THAN A LIFETIME. WE BUILD THEM ANYWAY.
At the edge of the Okefenokee, two men are building a regenerative farm and intentional community meant to outlive them.
What do we owe the future?
Human lives are brief. The landscapes we inherit—and the choices we make within them—can shape generations.
At The Farm at Okefenokee, Jeff Meyer and Doug Davis are attempting to build something neither expects to complete alone: a regenerative farm and intentional community designed to endure beyond their own lifetimes.
Trembling Earth follows that unfolding effort while exploring the land, people, and ideas that give it meaning.

Trailer 1: “From Seed to Table”
BUILDING BEYOND A SINGLE LIFETIME
Trembling Earth explores four ideas that connect the people, the land, and the future they are attempting to create.
What are we building through the choices we make today?
Legacy is not simply what remains after us. It is created continuously through our work, relationships, and willingness to invest in a future we may never see.
What changes when we see the land as something entrusted to us?
The film explores a relationship with the natural world shaped by responsibility, humility, and an understanding that healthy systems require time.
Can a community be intentionally built around shared purpose?
At The Farm, residents are attempting to create more than a place to live—a culture of participation, belonging, meaningful work, and connection.
Why begin something we may never personally finish?
Hope is expressed not as optimism alone, but through the decision to act, plant, build, restore, and care for what comes next.
TWO LIVING SYSTEMS
the farm & the okefenokee
The Okefenokee has taken centuries to form—a vast and constantly changing landscape shaped by water, peat, fire, wildlife, and time.
At its edge, The Farm represents a much newer experiment: an effort to restore soil, grow nourishing food, and create a community rooted in stewardship.
Trembling Earth explores the relationship between them and asks what one of America’s great wild places can teach us about building for the future.
